Joseph Wheeler - Lawyer
Joseph completed his LLB and BA (majoring in Psychology) at the University of Western Australia and his GDip Leg Prac at the College of Law, Queensland. He is admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland and the High Court of Australia.
Working principally in the aviation law and advisory services section of Carter Capner Joseph also handles personal and business dispute resolution and a variety of litigation matters in debt recovery, wills and estates and personal injuries.
During law school he interned at two US law firms that specialise in the conduct of high profile international air carrier litigation. One of these was Kreindler & Kreindler LLP, New York (www.kreindler.com) which has been the lead firm in all major air disaster cases, including the September 11 terrorist attacks.
Joseph was the first ‘Student Co-ordinator’ of the Aviation Law Association of Australia and New Zealand (‘ALAANZ’) (www.alaanz.org).
Joseph is a member of ALAANZ, the Queensland Law Society, plus the US Lawyer Pilots Bar Association. He also is a member of the American Association for Justice (‘AAJ’) and the American Bar Association (‘ ABA’) and was awarded scholarship funds by the ABA to attend an aviation law litigation conference in Washington DC in 2008.
In Perth, Joseph undertook flying training to ‘GFPT’ or restricted private pilot level, and plans to continue to private pilot level in Brisbane.
