Melissa graduated from Griffith University with a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) in 2005 after also completing a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology and Criminal Justice (Hons) in 2001. Melissa was admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland in 2006 and joined Carter Capner in 2007.

Melissa worked as a Solicitor in General Practice with a focus on personal injury litigation for several years. Melissa then focused solely on personal injury litigation acting for major insurers in public and product liability claims.She has a particular interest in public liability, motor vehicle and workplace related claims. Melissa is a member of Women in Insurance, the Queensland Law Society and the Australian Lawyers Alliance.
