Peter Carter - Partner

Peter is a solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland and High Court of Australia. He holds the degrees of BA, LLB and BCL. He has special expertise in the commercial and litigious areas of legal practice.

He has been growing Carter Capner Law as a successful small business for more than 15 years and has a very practical understanding the legal and commercial needs of people operating in the business sector. Peter is an accredited specialist in * law.

He is a member of the Australian Lawyers' Alliance (ALA) and was a foundation national councilor and Queensland president of that association. He served as its national president in 1998-1999. Peter is also a director of the Civil Justice Foundation of Australia.

Peter is a member of the American Association for Justice (formerly the Association of Trial Lawyers of America - ATLA) as well as being a member of its International Relations Committee. In August 2000, he was elected as one of two Australian governors on the board of the ATLA, headquartered in Washington D.C.

He is a member of the Queensland Law Society (QLS) and served in 1998-1999 on its Specialist Accreditation Board.

He is a member of the Aviation Law Association of Australia and New Zealand and has served as National Councilor and Queensland Chair of that association. He is also a member of the Lawyer-Pilot Bar Association.

He is a regular contributor to legal journals and speaker at legal conferences.
