A Bill of Rights for Australia

I urge the adoption of a Bill of Rights to protect institutions and processes that Australians consider fair and reasonable.

Australia is the only developed nation not to have the rights of its citizens protected in this way. It is now time to have things that Australians consider go without saying - like freedom of speech, freedom of the press, freedom of assembly and the right to a fair trial - embedded as fundamental rights that cannot be taken away by any future government
