Stamp duty changes that came into force on July 1 and trumpeted in the recent Queensland budget as a huge gain for property buyers will have little benefit except for first-time buyers and then not until September.

In a recent development, some solicitors are requesting agents to sign an acknowledgement to confirm that PAMDA requirements have been observed in relation the presentation and signing of the contract.
