Legal Practice Director
Peter is a solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland and High Court of Australia.
He holds the degrees of BA. LLB (Hons) and BCL. He is a Qld Law Society accredited specialist with expertise in the commercial and litigious areas of legal practice. His special area of interest is Aviation Law. Peter has been growing Carter Capner Law as a successful small business for more than 20 years and has a practical understanding the legal and commercial needs of people operating in the business sector. He was a foundation National Councillor and the inaugural Queensland President and also a National President of the Australian Lawyers Alliance (ALA). Peter is a member of the Queensland Law Society (QLS) and served in 1998-1999 on its Specialist Accreditation Board.
He is a former director of the Civil Justice Foundation of Australia. As a long-standing member of the Aviation Law Association of Australia and New Zealand (ALAANZ) and he served as National Councillor and Queensland Chair of that association. He is also a member of the Lawyer-Pilot Bar Association. He is a regular contributor to legal journals and speaker at legal conferences. He also holds a single engine private pilot’s licence with command instrument rating.
In 2012 his work, Bust: Queensland’s post-GFC property collapse as played out in the courtroom was published. Peter is also the principal author & editor of Take the law… on-line blog to which he has posted more than 500 legal case summaries since 2010.
Bartholomew is a solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland and holds an LLB degree from the Queensland University of Technology. He has also undertaken studies in Information Technology and Creative Industries and is a keen cyclist.
Bartholomew joined Carter Capner Law in February 2010 conducting an extensive compensation law practice.
Commercial Litigation Lawyer
Michael joined Carter Capner Law in January 2013, having previously worked for a specialist insurance law firm.
During his studies, Michael enjoyed living abroad in Norway for a year where he developed an enthusiasm for snowboarding.
Michael is committed to providing an impact for clients and prides himself on keeping them well informed about strategy and progress.
A sports enthusiast, Michael keeps a close watch on the progress of local sporting talent and is a long-suffering Tottenham Hotspur supporter.
Senior Litigation Lawyer
Sam is admitted to the Supreme Court of Queensland as a lawyer. Sam holds a Bachelors of Laws and Bachelors of Business, from the Queensland University of Technology.
Sam joined Carter Capner Law with prior experience in litigation and professional negligence with a national law firm.
Out-of-hours pursuits are waterpolo, open water swimming and collecting vinyl records
Senior Litigation Lawyer
Michelle is a solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland and holds a degree from the Queensland University of Technology.
Michelle prides herself on her ability to assist clients to achieve the best possible outcome during what is often a difficult period in their lives. She is driven by her passion for clients, challenges and a love of life.
A self proclaimed foodie, Michelle enjoys the markets, new eateries and during her spare time she dabbles in photography.
Karla joined Carter Capner in June 2015 as Practice Manager. Karla comes with experience not only managing law firms but has also worked across a number of other industries such as hospitality, international development and manufacturing. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) and has completed her CPA studies. Karla enjoys the variety offered in her role and loves being part of our growing team.
In her spare time, Karla enjoys playing netball and relaxing on the beach.
Mark joined the team in October 2017. He has a strong background in accounts management, and also has his certificates in fitness.
Digital Communications & Systems Manager
Heinz graduated from the University of the Sunshine Coast (USC) with a BA in Design & Marketing in 2004. While he studied, he was appointed Technician/Assistant in the online student magazine UniPlanet.net for the Australian region, and then moved on to work for the USC Arts & Social Sciences Faculty.
Heinz brings a strong graphic design background to the Marketing & Public Relations team and is responsible for the artwork and design of client communications. As a creative, Heinz likes anything that's strange, obscure and bizarre.
Jasmyn joined Carter Capner Law in April 2008 and has over four years of experience in residential conveyancing. She obtained a Diploma in Business in 2010 in order to provide further assistance to clients. Jasmyn's primary area of practice is residential sale and purchase contracts, and her aim is to achieve hassle-free transactions and the best outcomes for clients.
Amy Leeson joined Carter Capner Law in March 2013. She has completed a Certificate 4 in Justice Administration and is currently taking her studies further. She has had previous roles with high customer service skills. Outside work, Amy enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter.
She would love to travel to many destinations all over the world.
Property Paralegal Assistant
Kahli joined us at CCL in July 2016. She has completed a Certificate III in Business Administration and comes with eight years of experience in a legal office and four years assisting in conveyancing.
Outside of work, Kahli enjoys dining out, seeing movies and live bands, and travelling.
Hollie joined Carter Capner Law in 2017 with over four years experience working in a legal office. Hollie is currently studying a Bachelor of Social Work at Griffith University. In her spare time, Hollie enjoys going out for breakfast, listening to music, seeing live bands and playing with her dog, Franklin
Bridgette joined Carter Capner Law in 2017 with over four years experience in a legal office, primarily in litigation.
Outside of work Bridgette enjoys travelling, seeing live music, memes and is a big animal lover.
Linda is currently completing a dual Bachelor of Business/Laws (Honours) at the Queensland University of Technology. Linda volunteers with a number of charities, doing everything from kids camps to gift wrapping. In her free time Linda attempts to recreate interesting dishes she has tried at restaurants and markets.
Jordyn started with Carter Capner Law in August 2017. Jordyn holds a Bachelor in Justice and Legal Studies from the University of the Sunshine Coast.
In her spare time, Jordyn enjoys venturing to different restaurants and watching live music.
Athena started with Carter Capner Law in October 2017 and is going into her third year working in a corporate office. Outside of CCL Athena enjoys food, farmers markets, live music and new experiences.
Motivation & Team Building Coach
Chris started working with Carter Capner Law in January 2004. He holds an Advanced Diploma in Acupuncture and a Certificate IV in Fitness. Chris is a licensed massage therapist, Level 1 Strength & Conditioning Coach and Level 1 Karate Coach. Chris brings a wealth of experience in motivation and team building having competed in triathlons for 10 years, taught self defence in primary schools and made Queensland teams for karate. Chris has appeared on the Great South East demonstrating karate.Chris provides services to a number of industries including construction, finance and accounting, law, health and master athletics. Chris conducts team building advertures and seminars on health and fitness.
Chris is a keen surfer with 25 years experience!
